This is a Y-shaped rubber strap to keep the face mask in position during use over the face. the strapping should be across the patientÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s cheeks and its long arm is hooked across the top of head. the straps are to be attached to metal clips around the connector of the face mask. The strap should be kept as loose as possible with firm tightening the mask may cause pressure damage to the face. the chief disadvantage is that whenever vomiting occurs, it takes longer time to remove the face mask. Other types like ConnellÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s harness and HudsonÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s harness are also used. ConnellÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s harness is made of rubber and its consists of a head rest with two pairs of rubber loops, one on either side. the loops are to be adjusted and hooked through the metal clips of the face mask.
